A woman has been charged in connection with the murder of Bolton girl Emily Jones

Greater Manchester Police has today confirmed that a woman has been charged in connection with murder of a seven year old girl at a park in Bolton back in March.

The constabulary confirmed the news in a statement saying: “Eltiona Skana (24/2/90) formerly of Turnstone Road, Bolton has been charged with the murder of 7-year-old Emily Jones.”

“She is also charged with possession of a bladed article.”

“In the afternoon of Sunday 22 March 2020, police were called to Queen’s Park in Bolton following reports that a child had been stabbed.”


“Emergency services attended but sadly despite the best efforts of Emily’s family and medical responders, she passed away a short time later.”

GMP has also confirmed that the woman has been remanded in police custody and is set to appear before Manchester and Salford Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday 26th May 2020.
