Can you handle the heat?
Iceland has launched the spiciest supermarket burger in the UK and it’s just in time for summer.
Yes, we actually mean that as well. The supermarket chain is launching, quite literally the hottest barbeque product of 2020 with their Carolina Reaper Quarter Pounders for just £2.50 per pack. These new beef burgers have been blended with the world’s hottest chilli pepper, rather than topped with spice, which according to Head Chef, David Lennox, intensifies the taste of chilli within the meat.
So, what’s the big deal with the Carolina Reaper then? Well, the Carolina Reaper was first created in 2013 and gained an instant reputation around the globe for its blazing heat of up to 2.2 million Scoville Units.
To this day, it remains the hottest chilli in the world and is 200 times hotter than the humble Jalapeño.
That’s not all that’s new to the Carolina Reaper range though. If you really do think you can handle the heat, Iceland have also launched Carolina Reaper Chilli Chicken Wings (£3.00) too, just in time for the al fresco dining season.
Spice lovers have previously praised the Carolina Reaper range, which includes Carolina Reaper Chicken Breast Fillet Strips (£3.00) and Carolina Reaper Chicken Breast Fillet Chunks (£3.00) if you’re up for more.
The full Carolina Reaper range is now available to get your hands on from all Iceland stores right across the UK and online.
It’s advised that you check the opening times for your local branch before making any trips and you can do so on Iceland’s store locator here.
