As I am sure you are more than aware by now, especially if you follow us on Facebook, a new Santa was erected in Manchester city centre yesterday.
The new guy currently lives in Piccadilly Gardens and is the official replacement for Zippy – who graced us on Albert Square for the past decade.
Now he's up, Manchester City Council need to name him and they want you to help out.
In a tweet and post on Facebook the council said: "So now that our brand-new Santa has arrived, there's one 𝐛𝐢𝐠 𝐪𝐮𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 that needs to be answered... What are we going to call him?"
There have been some pretty mixed emotions on social media since the new heavily-moustached Santa was put up yesterday, but one thing is for sure, he's here to stay.
Twitter is already awash with name suggestions such as Whiskers McFurryface, Noël Gallagher, Spice, Dave and my two personal favourites... Santa and Get Christmas Done.
Whatever we name him, he will never be Zippy, who now has a new home on top of the Kellogg's factory in Trafford Park.
Kellogg's took ownership of Zippy and gave him a new home in a bid to give back to kids at Christmas and we think it's an awesome idea - and makes Zippy even more iconic.
Anyway, the new guy needs a name, so let us know your suggestions below or in our Facebook comments!
