A Manchester restaurant has been named the best luxury restaurant in the UK at a national awards ceremony.
Peter Street Kitchen was awarded the prestigious title at a red carpet awards do last night in London.
The Japanese and Mexican eatery beat competition from across the country, including The Fat Duck in Berkshire which has previously been named the best restaurant in the world.
The British Resturant Awards allow members of the public to nominate and vote for their best restaurants, chefs and culinary service in the UK.
Other restaurants up for the award included The Star Inn at Harome in Yorkshire, and The Black Swan at Oldstead, which both hold one Michelin star.
Peter Street Kitchen is based inside the 5 stars Radisson Edwardian hotel. It is popular for pre-theatre dining and is situated close to the Albert Hall, Bridgewater Hall, Opera House and Palace Theatre.
The restaurant, which opened in October 2018, aims to embrace the art of shared dining in the heart of Manchester, offering an exquisite selection of contemporary Japanese and Mexican small plates, complemented with the finest wines, sake and signature cocktails.
