Manchester nightclub The Birdcage has closed its doors suddenly after 13 years of popular cabaret nights in the city centre.
The venue, known for playing host to a variety of flamboyant drag acts, was one of the most well known venues in Manchester with its location in Shudehill - next to the Printworks - providing heavy foot flow for over a decade.
Since opening in 2016 the nightclub became one of the top destinations for hen parties in the city centre and hosted a popular student night every Friday.
There are currently no details as to why the club suddenly closed its doors, nor has there been any statements from the venue's management team.
Located inside the Arndale on Withy Grove, the establishment underwent a refurbishment that cost close to half a million quid just two years ago - but that hasn't prevented the closure, which has seen hundreds of customer bookings cancelled and refunds promised.
