Stagecoach are helping to support Armed Forces Day 2019 by offering free travel to military personnel.

Stagecoach busses across the UK are offering free travel to armed forces personnel when they show their Armed Forces ID card, or Veterans Badge and a photo ID.

They can also get free travel on Metrolink trams, Arriva, First and Transdev buses in Greater Manchester on the day.

Armed Forces Day, which is tomorrow, Saturday June 29th, is a chance for the public to show their support for the contribution of the men and women in the Armed Forces, from currently serving troops to service families, veterans and cadets.

Events are planned across the country, including a national event in Salisbury. There are various things happening across Greater Manchester, and in Manchester city centre there’ll be a march and other activities in St Peter’s Square.

Chief Operations Officer for Stagecoach, Mark Threapleton said:

We are sending a clear and proud message to armed forces communities across the country that we appreciate them and are grateful for everything they do. We hope that personnel choosing to travel to a local event will have an enjoyable day and we are delighted to show our appreciation for their commitment to our country.

In 2015, Stagecoach signed the Ministry of Defence’s Armed Forces Corporate Covenant in support of the Armed Forces Community, which recognises the Armed Forces contribution to both the country and businesses nationwide.
