Mum dodges Thomas Cook baggage fees by wearing three kilos of clothes to airport

A penny saving Mancunian mum has dodged Thomas Cook baggage fees after she changed into five kilos of holiday clothes at Manchester Airport. Amazing.

Natalie Wynn was on her way to Fuerteventura when she put on seven dresses, two pairs of shoes, two pairs of shorts, a skirt and a cardigan, after discovering she was going to be charged £65 for her overpacked luggage.

The mum-of-five, who was "boiling" after taking matters into her own hands at the check-in desk, was stopped by security offers while boarding her flight and was told her baggage was too heavy to take on board.

Natalie, from Oldham, said that her fellow passengers found the entire situation hilarious, and some kind travellers even offered to pack her clothes into their suitcases to avoid paying the fine. Love it.

Joey from Friends

The situation echoes the iconic 'Joey moment' from friends, in which Matt LeBlanc puts on Chandler's entire wardrobe, and even prompted a positive response from Thomas Cook themselves - who called her a genius for her quick thinking.

A Thomas Cook Airlines spokeswoman said:

Natalie's ingenuity here is noted! The good news for Natalie and the rest of our customers, is that later this month we are increasing our hand baggage allowance to 8kg. This will hopefully help her travel a little less like Joey from Friends next time.
