Northern Rail launch massive 10p flash ticket sale

The worst thing about train travel in the UK is the ridiculously overpriced fares we have to pay, which when combined with crowded and often-cancelled services really rubs salt in the wound.

While this latest news won’t help with the latter two issues, at least you’ll be able to grab yourself some cheap tickets.

Northern Rail is currently doing a massive 10p flash sale on tickets, to a load of different destinations from Manchester.

Northern Rail

It began yesterday, Monday August 19th, and there are 80,000 reduced price tickets up for grabs - you’ll have to wait until next month to redeem them though, as they’re only valid on journeys from September 1st to September 30th.

While there are a number of 10p tickets for adults - and 5p for kids - in the sale, this is the minimum price so not all the offers will be that cheap.

However, 10p tickets are available from various Manchester stations to a load of great destinations, including:

Arnside, Barrow-in-Furness, Blackpool North, Blackpool Pleasure Beach, Blackpool South, Burneside (Cumbria), Cark & Cartmel, Carnforth, Chester, Crewe, Dalton, Dewsbury, Dore & Totley, Earlestown, Halifax, Huyton, Kendal, Kents Bank, Kirkham & Westham, Lancaster, Lea Green, Leeds, Liverpool Lime Street, Liverpool South Parkway, Macclesfield, Manchester Airport, Marsden (Yorks), Mirfield, Morecambe, Newton-Le-Willows, Oxenholme Lake District, Poulton-Le-Fylde, Preston (Lancs), Roose, Sheffield, Silverdale, Slaithwaite, Staveley (Cumbria), Stoke-On-Trent, Ulverston, Warrington Central, Wilmslow, and Windermere.

Reduced advance tickets are available on a first come, first served basis via the Northern website and app - you won’t be able to grab them at ticket machines or offices.
