The four men remain in police custody for questioning.
Greater Manchester Police has confirmed that four men have been arrested following the rape of a woman in her 30s on Canal Street in Manchester City Centre.
The exact location of the attack has not been revealed, but cordons are now believed to be in place on part of the towpath running parallel to Canal Street.
The suspects remain in police custody.
A spokesperson for GMP said: “Shortly before midnight on Wednesday, May 13, police were called to reports that a woman had been raped on Canal Street, Manchester.”
“Emergency services attended and a woman in her 30s was taken to hospital for treatment. She is being supported by specialist officers.”
“A scene is currently in place on Canal Street whilst investigation work is carried out.”
“Four men – aged 32, 33, 42 and 48 – have been arrested on suspicion of rape and they all remain in custody for questioning.”
