Ray Boddington’s son posts heartbreaking tribute to the Manchester legend

Louder Than War / Nigel Carr

After the tragic news of Piccadilly Rats dancer Ray Boddington’s death broke earlier today, the whole city of Manchester has been united in grief.

Ray was placed on a life support machine after being hit by a Metrolink tram on the evening of Wednesday April 10th, in the city centre.

The dancer had been fighting for his life ever since, after being seriously injured in the collision that took place on High Street, between Market Street and Shudehill.

Sadly, he lost that battle last night, almost a week after the horrific incident.

Now his son Daniel has taken to social media to pay tribute to his ‘amazingly strong’ dad and best friend.

Posting on the Ray Boddington Facebook page, Daniel thanked everyone for their support, saying if he was here his dad would ‘say he loves you all and he would thank everyone.’
