If you bought a EuroMillions ticket you need to go check it now, as someone in the UK is currently sitting on the biggest lottery jackpot the country has ever seen.

One lucky ticket-holder is about to become Britain's richest ever lottery winner with a whopping £170 million coming there way.

National Lottery operator Camelot confirmed the jackpot has been won by a single ticket-holder, although it’s unknown whether it’s a single person, family or syndicate.

The winning numbers are 7, 10, 15, 44 and 49, with 3 and 12 chosen as the Lucky Star numbers - if one person has won the jackpot they will be instantly placed on the Sunday Times' Rich List of the 1,000 wealthiest people in the UK.

This would rank them above Ed Sheeran, who is only worth a meagre £160 million.

As well as this, the winner has also smashed the previous UK lottery payout record held by Colin and Chris Weir, who won £161 million back in 2011.

Andy Carter, senior winners' adviser at the National Lottery, said: "One incredibly lucky ticket-holder has scooped tonight's enormous £170m Euromillions jackpot. They are now the UK's biggest ever winner. Players all across the country are urged to check their tickets as soon as possible."

So what are you waiting for? Get checking. And if you spot that you’ve got a winning ticket because of this article, I’ll happily take a million or two as a thank you...
