Stevenson Square is closed following a ‘collision between car and bus’

There has been a collision between a car and a bus in Stevenson Square in Manchester city centre.

The collision happened on Lever Street at the junction of Dale Street at around 3pm today (Monday). Currently, there is a vehicle wrapped in plastic with its roof missing in the middle of the crossroads in the square.

Three police cars, one ambulance and one fire engine are all in attendance at the incident.

We have chosen not to post any images of the vehicle as we are currently unaware of the health of the driver and/or passengers involved.

It is wise to avoid the Stevenson Square area of Northern Quarter at all costs at this time as we imagine it will be closed off for the remainder of the evening.

More information will follow.
