It’s been over two months now since people lined the streets of Manchester’s Northern Quarter for a drink and a bite to eat.
The coronavirus lockdown has rendered Manchester city centre closed in what has been the most unprecedented time in all of our lives.
We miss our friends, our family, but most importantly, we miss getting p*ssed in town and aimlessly wandering its busy, colourful streets.
Most of us are sat at home staring at four walls waiting for Boris Johnson to tell us the ‘R’ has gone down and that we can go and meet our friends again, but even when that happens, it’s going to be a long time until our night time economy can safely bounce back.
One man, however, is sick of waiting and has taken a virtual step forward by recreating the Northern Quarter in The Sims 4.
PicketyP wrote on Twitter: “So fed up of not being able to go out, so I’ve started creating the Northern Quarter in The Sims 4. Here’s Common / Edge Street.”
And he’s absolutely nailed it, to be fair…
He’s done an incredible job so far, but we want more, and so does Twitter user Giada Porcedda, who wrote: “This is absolutely brilliant! Now I need to see VRev on the other side of the street, please.”
I wouldn’t mind seeing Abel Heywood either, and if you can stick me in the corner sipping a cold pint of Manchester Craft, that would be lovely, cheers PicketyP.
We look forward to the updates!
