North West Ambulance Service has created a video highlighting some of the non-emergency 999 calls they received this year.
The service received more than 1 million calls overall, however over a third of them were classed as non-emergency.
The video, posted to YouTube, features calls from people who stubbed their toe, couldn't reach the toilet roll and someone who had head lice and was too embarrassed to leave the house.
For the past decade, calls to 999 have been increasing year on year, with 2019 being the biggest year for emergency calls yet. However, this means the amount of non-emergency calls has also increased.
And with winter being the busies time of year for call operators, and the busiest time of year only a week away, we imagine some of the most ridiculous calls are yet to come.
Our emergency services don't get enough credit, do they.
