It pretty much goes against everything we’re supposed to morally do, but in this version of Monopoly, you’re actually encouraged to cheat if you want to win.

We’ll just let you wrap your head around that for a minute.

So, all this time we’ve been told to follow the rules and ‘winners play fair’, but now we have to flip that concept on it’s head and actually do a bit of cheating if we want to stand a chance at winning? As mad as it sounds, that’s exactly the point of Monopoly: Cheaters Edition.

This special edition of the classic board game was released back in 2018 and is currently sitting firmly on Amazon’s ‘Best Seller’ list, so you just know that means it’s probably become a favourite for lockdown games nights in households across the country.

The aim of the game is quite simply to see “what you can get away with”.

The cheaters edition has been made taking inspiration from the typical moves that cheaters usually pull during a classic game of Monopoly.

This is the version for players who slip a couple hundreds from the bank when the others aren’t looking.

Featuring 15 new “cheat cards,” the cheaters edition means that not paying your rent, or moving your piece ahead when it’s not your turn, are actually acceptable moves this time round, but only as long as you don’t get caught doing it.

The end goal of the game is still the same – be left with the most money at the end – but this cheaters edition obviously makes that significantly harder, because players are encouraged to cheat as many times as they possibly can.

Basically, if you thought you were good at Monopoly before, you might want to think again.
