If you're from Manchester then you can't resist a good Home Bargains browse. We love our discount stores.
Well, there's even more reason to love Home Bargains now as it has been announced that they will close all of their UK stores on Boxing Day in order to give its 22,000 members of staff a well deserved rest.
All branches of the discount store will stay shut on both Christmas Day and Boxing Day this year giving workers an extra day off and the opportunity to dodge the chaos of what is possibly the worst day of shopping in the calendar.
It's actually the second year in a row that the chain has shut on the day after Christmas so staff “are able to enjoy the Christmas break”.
But if that isn't enough, the day off won't be taken from staff's holiday allowance meaning that they'll get paid for their rest day. Decent.
In a post on social media, Home Bargains wrote: “To all our staff: Thank you for all your hard work once again this year.
“All our stores will be closed on Boxing Day to ensure you are able to spend time with your friends and family.”
Well played Home Bargains, now it's time for other retailers to follow suit!
