If you’re looking for something ‘magical’ to do this Christmas, then this Santa’s Grotto in a cave is perfect.
Tickets are now on sale, and it’s been getting rave reviews online.
Visitors are escorted through the cave by an elf, before entering Santa’s wonderfully illuminated grotto to meet the man himself.
Located in Poole's Cavern in Buxton - which has been described as one of ‘the seven wonders of the Peak’, and has been in use since the 16th Century - it’s only an hour from Manchester, and if the reviews are anything to go by it’s well worth the trip.
One reviewer on TripAdvisor listed all the positives:
Magical experience: Greeted by lovely staff, waited in the cafe for our turn to see Santa. Whilst waiting we had free drinks. Elves called out our name and we were accompanied into the cave to see Santa in his grotto. Caves all illuminated and looked so magical. Santa was amazing and so much effort was put into this experience, Santa even pulled out the presents out of his 'magical box' with the children's names on.
Paul agreed, saying: “Very well done. Not commercialised - no photographer. Didn't try to sell any extras. We spent about 2 hours here.”
If you want to check it out, Santa will be in his grotto every weekend from November 30th, as well as December 23rd and 24th, from 10am until 4pm - some dates have already sold out so you best be quick.
Tickets will set you back £10 for kids, with under ones going free, and £4 for adults - you can only book via phone on 01298 26978 between 10am and 5pm.
