TUI cancels all Florida holidays due to Disney World safety measures
TUI has announced flight cancellations to Florida until the end of November.
TUI has announced cancellations today of all flights to Florida from the UK and Ireland until the end of November amid the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.
The travel giant stated that this is due to the unprecedented travel restrictions and the safety precautions put in place at Disney World.
A second surge of coronavirus cases has also been confirmed in the US state.
In a statement released to holidaymakers this morning, TUI said: “The decision has been made following new health and safety measures implemented at Walt Disney World to ensure the safety of its guests.”
“These changes would significantly impact the holiday experience for many Tui customers who plan their magical and often once in a lifetime Florida holiday.”
TUI has already announced plans to resume flights to a number of destinations in July.
Richard Sofer, Director at TUI, previously said that the firm had “absolute confidence” the UK government will ditch the 14-day quarantine measures that are currently in place over the coming weeks and dependent on government advice, TUI has also laid out plans to add more flights and destinations by the end of July.
Up to 19 destinations from five UK airports are expected and TUI has said it will only fly passengers to quarantine-free destinations.
Those travelling with the company will have to comply with a number of thorough safety measures.
