A keen crafter on Instagram has shared a clever way to transform a mop head into a festive pumpkin decoration.
Now that autumn is right around the corner, with the temperatures dropping and the leaves starting to change colour, one money-savvy crafting influencer has decided to get into the spirit by turning a simple £1 mop from Poundland into a decorative pumpkin.
Anna-Marie Sorroll – who is based in Carmarthen and runs @thislittle_houseofmine on Instagram – shared the craft activity on the social media platform last week, and it’s caught the attention of dozens of others.
Talking fellow crafters through how to make the pumpkin in a short video, Anna-Marie explained that it couldn’t be simpler to recreate the hack as all you’ll need is a two-pack of mop heads from Poundland, a hair tie, a twig – the shorter and thicker the better – and 10 spare minutes to hand.
“I’ve done a quick tutorial of my mop head pumpkin – it’s just a quick one for you to get a rough idea of how to make it,” Anna-Marie explained to her over 9,000 followers.

If you’re looking to have a go at making the pumpkin for yourself, then you’ll want to remember that the two-pack of mop heads from Poundland is an important purchase as his set includes the woollen mop head that features on-trend white and grey yarn, and although you could use any other type of mop head, this one doesn’t look too much like a cleaning product.
So, what are the steps for creating your own mop head pumpkin then?

As Anna-Marie demonstrates in the video, you’ll first want to hold the mop head up, and tie your hair bobble around the end, ensuring any loose strands are held in, before splitting the middle part in half so it looks like a ring and then folding the head in on itself so the mop attachment and fly-away strands are hidden.
Then you’ll just need to tidy the strands up to make it look like as much of a pumpkin as possible, and add the twig into the top.
As well on her own Instagram account, Anna-Marie’s post on a Facebook crafting group has also amassed over 1,000 interactions too, and hundreds of comments pouring in like: “What a clever idea and so simple.”

Molly-Mae Hague has revealed details of her daughter Bambi’s ongoing ‘aggressive era’ in a candid vlog this week.
The influencer and former Love Island star has taken to YouTube to share a glimpse into her life as a new mum of two, following the arrival of her and boxer Tommy Fury’s second child Midas back in June, and she revealed that the days of daughter Bambi’s ‘aggressive’ nature seem to be far from over, despite a period of calm.
Fans will know that three-year-old Bambi has had a, shall we call it, biting phase in the past – with quotes from the youngster on the topic going viral on social media, for better or for worse.
But for a while now, it’s seemed to followers that Bambi may have started to grow out of this behaviour as she aged, and they clearly weren’t the only ones who thought this either, as Molly-Mae explained that she was ‘very wrong’ to find out this wasn’t the case.
The 27-year-old informed YouTube viewers of her absence in filming long-form content by explaining that she’s been finding it tricky to balance life postpartum.
And as the weeks went on, Bambi’s behaviour appeared to be part of why.
Explaining to viewers the reason it had been such a long time since the last time she vlogged, Molly said: “That day where I said I was going to vlog, with it just being me and the kids, I went to Pizza Express with Bambi and Midas and some friends, and I actually can’t even disclose what happened.
“All I’m going to say is that I thought Bambi was out of her aggressive era, but I was very wrong and headlocks were put it place – not by me, by her.
Molly concluded the anecdote by saying that the family is ‘really in the depths of it now’ with having a newborn and a toddler, and admitted that she is simply just trying to ‘keep [her] head above water’.
Family-run Greater Manchester business calls out customers for punching cakes

A well-known independent Greater Manchester business has taken to social media to call out customers who were caught on CCTV punching their cakes.
Known for everything from cakes and pastries to hot baked goods and custom chocolate designs, Slattery’s in Whitefield has been serving up their gorgeous cake and chocolate creations for over 50 years, all while keeping the business family-run.
Unfortunately, the reason they’re receiving lots of attention at the minute is due to two customers resorting to violence on their pre-packaged sweet-treat products.
The social media account for this Greater Manchester chocolatier has uploaded two images which show the outcome of the fatal blows which struck two of their Victoria Sponge cakes.
Although this punch may have cost them the price of two of their delicious traybakes, later on in the post, Slattery’s issues a big thanks to “All the wonderful families who’ve visited so far this summer.”
“We know cake can be exciting, but a gentle reminder that little bakers should remain under adult supervision at all times – Thank you.”
This third-generation family-run “chocolate wonderland” has brought a smile to many locals’ and tourists’ faces alike with their wide variety of unique-shaped chocolate bars, lollies, grab bags and more.
