LEGOLAND Discovery Centre Manchester is set to reopen this Saturday with a brand-new ‘play session’ format in place as the nationwide lockdown continues to ease.
Special pass holders are eligible to book a day early and enjoy a sneak preview of the sessions on Friday 17th July too.
While the site, located in Barton Square at the Trafford Centre, will continue to offer the same “brick-tastic fun” that’s always been on offer, some tweaks have been made in order to make sure guests of all ages and team members are kept as safe as possible.
In line with government guidelines, the centre’s brick pits are currently not in operation, but to ensure the site still offers opportunities for imaginative play and adventure, each guest will be given their own bag of LEGO to build with during their visit.
These bags are returned once the session ends and then deep cleaned before other guests are able to use them.

All rides, 4D cinemas and other elements of the Discovery Centre remain in place for visitors of all ages to enjoy, although the Driving School is currently closed.
Guests won’t be required to wear PPE, but will have their temperature taken on arrival, and are asked to respect and adhere to all social distancing measures in place across the centre.

As with any activity post-lockdown, LEGOLAND Discovery Centre Manchester will be asking all visitors to closely observe safety guidelines, maintain a safe distance from those outside their party, and to keep up with good hygiene practices. If any member of a visiting party displays any symptoms of COVID-19, they are asked to postpone their visit and contact the site to change the date of their play session.
Re-scheduling dates can be done at no additional cost.

LEGOLAND Discovery Centre Manchester will reopen on Saturday 18th July.
The centre will open seven days a week and run two daily play sessions, one from 10am-12pm and another from 1.30pm-3.30pm, with entry from 9.30am and 1pm respectively, and guests will need to book online to attend either session.
The entire centre will be completely cleaned before and after each event.

Pop and Neo-soul superstar Olivia Dean is continuing her phenomenal past 12 months by performing an arrangement of her hits and deep cuts from her newest LP The Art of Loving across the globe.

Stage times for Olivia Dean at Co-op Live, Manchester
Doors for the ‘I Could Be A Florist’ hitmaker are set to open from 6.30pm with no official starting time listed yet.
Co-op Live has a strict curfew of 11pm meaning you’ll have plenty of time to say ‘Ok Love You Bye’ and make it home in time before it gets to midnight.
How to get to Co-op Live
Tram
For those of you heading to Co-op Live, you’ll be glad to know it’s right next door to a rather famous big blue stadium and its integrated Metrolink stop.
Head along the light blue or orange lines directly to the Etihad Campus or Ashton-under-Lyne, and you can get off the tram literally spitting distance from the arena. You can find the full map HERE.
Trams run frequently on the Ashton-Eccles line to the Etihad stop, with services leaving every six minutes from the city centre and until 1:00am on Fridays and Saturdays.
Bus
You can find the full list of bus routes HERE, with the one in closest proximity to the venue being the 53 bus, which runs from Cheetham Hill through to Higher Crumpsall, Old Trafford and Pendleton, leaving just a two-minute walk to Co-op Live. You also get free Bee Network travel with any valid event.
Getting there by car and parking
If you’re driving, there is limited parking available at the venue, but this must be pre-booked ahead of time, and there are designated drop-off areas.
The postcode is M11 3DU, and you can follow the signs towards the wider Etihad Campus as you get closer; directions to the adjacent drop-off points will also be signposted.

Keep in mind that congestion on the roads close to the stadium is expected to gather around two hours prior to any event, so if you are travelling on the road, these are the suggested times they provide on event day, though estimates will obviously vary:
Alan Turing Way (both directions): plan an additional 20 minutes into any journey by road.
Hyde Road (eastbound): expect an additional 15 minutes to be added to your journey.
Mancunian Way (westbound): plan for an extra 10 minutes of travel time.
There are also three park-and-ride facilities near Co-op Live, but be advised that the Velopark and Holt Town stops will be closed post-event to help safely manage crowds:
Ashton West (Ashton line) – 184 spaces and 11 disabled spaces
Ladywell (Ashton-Eccles line) – 332 spaces and 22 disabled spaces
Walk/cycle
Lastly, Co-op Live is only a half-hour stroll from Manchester Piccadilly, and you could even walk along the canal all the way to the front door if you fancy taking the scenic route.
Greater Manchester now also offers the option to hire bikes on the Beryl app, with riders able to locate, unlock, get to their destination and then safely lock up the bike all through an easy-to-use app. There are hire points just near the south-west corner of the Etihad Stadium on Ashton New Road.

Major Greater Manchester names on lineup as BBC Comedy Festival heads north for 2026

The BBC’s popular comedy festival heading up north next month, and there’s some major local names on the lineup.
Previously held in other major cities like Belfast, Glasgow, Cardiff, and Newcastle but this year pitching up in Liverpool, the BBC Comedy Festival is opportunity for those working in the TV industry to get together, discuss, and celebrate comedy.
Bolton‘s finest Diane Morgan, alongside other northern names like John Bishop, Lee Mack, Sir Michael Palin, and Sue Johnston are among a stellar lineup of comedy talent taking part in next month’s festival, as well as other big names like Ruth Jones, James Corden, Gbemisola Ikumelo, and the creators and producers of hit BBC show Amandaland.
Talent on the lineup will take part in a selection of talks, panels, screenings, and live comedy shows across the two days – with many events also being open to the public to attend.

Last year’s BBC Comedy Festival proved to be a big success, with 16 panels and masterclasses, and more than 70 comedy names taking to the stage.
The BBC says the 2026 festival in Liverpool – which is set to take place on 13 and 14 May – ‘marks the start’ of expanded script‑development opportunities across the North West, with more details to come.
Alongside some of the more household names on the lineup, other comedians set to appear this year include Ash Atalla, Jessica Knappett, Philippa Dunne, Michael Odewale, Emma Garrett, David Mumemi, and Simon Mayhew Archer, among many others.
Speaking ahead of the festival next month, Jon Petrie, who is the Director of Comedy at the BBC, said: “Liverpool has funny bones and a rich culture of producing top tier comedy creatives, so we’re delighted to be bringing the BBC Comedy Festival 2026 to the city.
“Comedy occupies a unique place in the television industry and British culture.
“It’s important that we provide a forum that brings together some of the best comedy minds to celebrate and discuss the success of the sector now and in the future.”
