Tina – The Tina Turner Musical has announced its first-ever UK and Ireland tour, and it’s coming to Manchester.
The smash hit West End production, which documents the life of the iconic singer and is packed with her biggest hits, will visit the Palace Theatre.
Tina – The Tina Turner Musical has been running at the Aldwych Theatre for more than five years, smashing box office records, and eight productions have opened worldwide.
The show is currently on tour in North America and Australia but details of a UK and Ireland leg have finally been announced, with a huge run in Manchester.
The glittering production tells the story of the 12-time Grammy Award-winning Queen of Rock n Roll.

It’s a true and inspiring story which captures how she dared to dream fiercely, shatter barriers and defy the bounds of age, gender, and race to conquer the world against all odds.
Its soundtrack includes her hits like The Best, What’s Love Got To Do With It?, Private Dancer and River Deep, Mountain High.

Police charge and name man after broad daylight stabbing of 19-year-old in Northern Quarter

A man has been charged and publicly named after the stabbing of a teenager in the Northern Quarter last week.
Bandar Alzahar has been charged with attempted murder and possession of a bladed article in a public place, and has been remanded in custody ahead of a scheduled appearance at Manchester & Salford Magistrates Court today (Monday 3 August 2026).
The charges come after a 19-year-old man was stabbed in the Northern Quarter, in Manchester city centre, last Friday (31 July).
The shocking incident took place in broad daylight at around 12:50pm on Church Street.
After police attended the scene, they ‘quickly located’ a suspect – initially described as just being a man in his early 20s – at Manchester Airport within three hours of the incident occurring, and he was subsequently arrested on suspicion of Section 18 assault.
The victim sadly remains in hospital in a stable condition but with life-threatening injuries, police have confirmed.
Greater Manchester Police (GMP) are still appealing to the public for information. In a public plea, police wrote: “We are still asking for information from anyone that may have witnessed the incident on Church Street to get in touch with us.
“This includes any CCTV, mobile phone or Dashcam footage that may assist our enquiries.”

Manchester Airport serves more than 200 destinations worldwide, and airport bosses have now dug through that whopping list to pull together some of the best deals, as well as sharing some tips for securing the best deals during peak season.
Manchester Airport’s Chief Commercial Officer Stephen Turner said: “Here at Manchester Airport we are proud to connect the North to the World – with a bigger and better route network than any UK airport outside London.
“What that means in practice is better choice and value for our passengers – so they can still get great deals even during the summer holidays when prices to lots of destinations tend to rise.
“We fly to lots of lesser-known destinations that other airports don’t, so there are a lot of bargains to be found. But because we also offer more flights each day to some of Europe’s top destinations, that helps keep prices down too.”
Here are nine lesser-known destinations you can fly to from Manchester Airport this summer.
Skip the busy Amalfi coast or popular summer cities like Florence and Rome, and instead head to Rimini, on Italy’s Adriatic coast.
This beautiful destination – a brand-new addition to Manchester Airport’s network – is famed for having miles of sandy beaches, a picturesque old town, and a marina.
It’s also home to Italia in Miniatura, a model village-style attraction where you can see Italy’s most famous sites in a small scale.

Girona

Check prices regularly – and if you see a deal you like the look of, don’t hold off. Travellers are booking later this summer, so last-minute deals are there to be had – but don’t cut it too fine.
If you know you love the seaside resorts of Spain, or the whitewashed villages of Greece, expand your horizons and look at parts of the country you haven’t visited before.
