Greater Manchester Mayor Andy Burnham is going to get back behind the DJ decks in Manchester in the next few weeks.
The mayor will be playing a setlist of Manchester classic tunes on Wednesday 3 August.
It’s not the first time the 52-year-old has moonlighted as a DJ either – he once performed a set at Jimmy’s, back when it was in its original home in the Northern Quarter.
This time, Andy will be heading down to Ramona on Swan Street to spin the tunes.

The venue said that the public figure regularly pops in for a slice of its Detroit-style pizzas, so he’s already a familiar face around this neck of the woods.
Every Wednesday, a different artist will take over the playlist both in the venue and on a live stream.

The line-up for August includes hip-hop pioneer Mikey D.O.N., British soul star Mica Millar, and writer and DJ Bill Brewster, as well as Andy Burnham himself.
The popular venue also serves up £5 margaritas on Wednesdays, so it’s quite the night out.

Ramona wrote: “Yes the mayor! He swings in for pizza quite a bit so we asked him if he fancied Djing, He said…He’d absolutely love to!
“Expect lots of New Order, Manchester classics and 90s summer Jams. Bring the party Andy Burnahm you got this.”

Richard Ashcroft announces massive Wigan homecoming show next summer
Daisy Jackson
Manc music royalty Richard Ashcroft will return to his hometown of Wigan next summer for a massive gig.
The gig at Robin Park will mark the first time Ashcroft has performed in Wigan for more than 25 years.
The star is perhaps best-known for his time spent with The Verve, with whom he released Urban Hymns, the UK’s 18th-biggest-selling album of all time.
The Verve’s hits included The Drugs Don’t Work, Bittersweet Symphony, Lucky Man, and Sonnet.
He’s gone on to earn himself two Ivor Novello Awards, for Songwriter of the Year in 1998 and Outstanding Contribution to British Music in 2019.
Richard Ashcroft‘s most recent album, Acoustic Hymns, was released in 2022 and reached number two in the UK Albums Chart.
He’ll be performing at Robin Park next July, a multi-million pound venue that will be the home of Wigan Warriors, built in association with Wigan Council.

Robin Park has been built next to the DW Stadium and is just a 20 minute walk from the town centre and Wigan North Western train station.
Richard Ashcroft said: “After 25 years, I’m back playing in my hometown. Looking forward to an amazing night in Wigan.”
The huge gig will take place on Saturday 20 July at Robin Park.
Tickets will go on sale from 9am on Friday 1 December via See Tickets.
