Bryan Adams announces huge Manchester gig on upcoming world tour

'We’re gonna rock the roof off these arenas!'

Bryan Adams is heading to Manchester on his Roll With The Punches world tour, the rock legend has announced.

He’ll be gigging right the way across the world in 2025, following his whopping three-year So Happy It Hurts tour.

The Everything I Do (I Do It For You) singer will be performing at the AO Arena next year, as well as gigging in eight other cities including Leeds, Liverpool and Nottingham.

The latest Bryan Adams tour comes in support of his new studio album and will bring him to Manchester in May.

He said: “I’ve been gigging in the UK for such a long time now, and each time I play here I remember why I fell in love with UK audiences…

“We’re gonna sing and rock the roof off these arenas!”

He’s famed for his energetic stage shows and his massive hits including Summer of 69 and So Far So Good.

Bryan Adams is promising more full-force stage shows and timeless rock anthems when he brings the Roll With The Punches tour to Manchester.

There’ll be an artist pre-sale from 9am on Wednesday 2 October for existing members of the Bryan Adams mailing list.

General sale tickets will be available from 9am on Friday 4 October.

MTV is hosting a week-long venue takeover with some exciting artists to celebrate the EMAs coming to Manchester

In case you haven’t heard, the MTV EMAs (European Music Awards) is coming to Manchester later this year, and to mark the massive occasion, they’re hosting a huge week-long takeover at some of the city’s best venues.

This may be a first for Manchester but this isn’t the only time the award ceremony has come to the UK, with London, Liverpool, Glasgow and Belfast all having hosted it before, and with the world-leading Co-op Live now attracting endless global artists, the state-of-the-art venue was a no-brainer.

However, they’re no muppets, these MTV lot: they know that Manchester has one of if not the best music scenes on the planet and has some of the most influential venues to back it up, so they’ve decided to partner with several of them for a celebratory gig takeover.

Running from 5-9 November (Tuesday to Saturday), MTV Music Week will host a series of live music nights at some of the city’s best concert spots and nightlife destinations.

Showcasing both rising and well-established artists from Manchester and beyond, MTV‘s annual Music Week for the 2024 EMAs isn’t just sponsoring a few extra shows ahead of the awards do, they’ll also be spotlighting homegrown artists, hosting unforgettable performances as well as industry workshops.

With the likes of Rebellion, Band on the Wall and Soup Kitchen, as well as Depot Mayfield and Aviva Studios – home to The Warehouse Project and Factory International, respectively – all taking part, this is effectively a week-long tour of some Manc’s most magical music venues.

Acts that we’re excited to see include homegrown indie and alternative lads, Larkins; fast-rising electronic cult favourite, salute, as well as drum and bass duo Piri and Tommy, just to name a few.

Better still, with sub-brands like MTV Push Live, Club MTV and YO! MTV Raps hosting several of these stages, you can rest assured that there’s plenty of variety when it comes to genres.

Alongside MTV Music Week and the 2024 MTV EMAs, Paramount’s Creators House is also heading to Manchester that same week.

As part of their ‘Content for Change’ event series, this company-wide, social impact-led initiative will take place across between 7-9 November, with a packed slate of programming and networking opportunities aimed at Manchester’s creative community.

Bev Craig, Leader of Manchester City Council, said of the event series: “Our music scene in Manchester is the stuff of legend and we’re known the world over for our brilliant musicians and iconic venues.

“Music Week will be a great showcase for our city and the stage is set for an incredible Manchester music takeover. A boost for the industry, our economy, and fantastic opportunities for some of our best homegrown artists as well as unforgettable performances for audiences to enjoy.”

Bruce Springsteen announces a pair of massive Manchester gigs at Co-op Live next year

American rock and roll icon Bruce Springsteen really is treating Manchester fans, giving them not one but two opportunities to watch ‘The Boss’ live in action.

Known for hits countless hits over the decades like ‘Dancing in the Dark’, ‘Born in the USA’ and just being an overall rock god, Bruce Springsteen is set to play a total of three dates in the North West.

The legend, who helped define not only what swathes of 70s and 80s music sounded like but still influences artists all over to this day, last graced the Manchester crowds back in 2016 when he brought ‘The River Tour’ to Manchester City’s Etihad Stadium. 

Next year will mark nine whole years since he last visited our gorgeous city and this time, he’s treating us to two bites at the ‘Sherry Darling’.

There will be a few familiar faces joining him on stage too, as Springsteen will be accompanied by a long-running backing band and career-long friends, The E Street Band, when he takes the at Co-op Live, Manchester’s newest and most state-of-the-art music venue.

The 75-year-old is currently preparing to serenade Canada with his timeless riffs and effortless rockstar swagger, and if his US shows are anything to go by, his UK dates are set to be just as phenomenal.

He clearly has a soft spot for us Mancs as we are blessed with the opening date of his 2025 European tour, which kicks off in May, before he then takes his show on the (Thunder) road to Anfield Stadium in Liverpool for one night only in June.

Springsteen has played Manchester on many occasions throughout his musical career but this will be his first time in the brand-new performance space.

This tour announcement comes shortly after some more big news for Brucey and his fans with a brand new documentary film releasing on Hulu and Disney+ later this month.

The documentary film, Road Diary: Bruce Springsteen and The E Street Band, is coming to our screens on 25 October, but first we can look forward to the real-life Bruce Springsteen touching down in Manchester on 17 and 20 May 2025.

As for the tour itself, the rock artist will no doubt have the crowd up on their feet and reliving memories of the past while creating new ones at his show with a discography spanning six decades and a staggering 21 studio albums.
