Bodies found in search for missing father and son from Cheshire

They were reported missing from a hike in Scotland.

Police searching for a missing father and son from Cheshire have found two bodies.

Tom Parry, 49, and Richie Parry, 12, had been reported missing during a hike in the Glencoe area of Scotland.

A large search effort had been launched in Scotland to look for the pair.

Their car was found in the Three Sisters car park where they stopped the day before to go hillwalking.

Tom and Richie had been due to return home on Wednesday after visiting Glen Nevis and Glencoe.

Tragically, officers from Police Scotland have found two bodies during their search.

The discovery was made on the evening of Wednesday 29 May, 2024.

The bodies haven’t yet been formally identified, but the family of Tom and Richie have been notified.

Enquiries are ongoing and at this stage it’s believed that there are no apparent suspicious circumstances.

Inspector Craig Johnstone said: “Our thoughts are with all those involved. I would like to thank all emergency services and Mountain Rescue volunteers.”
