Slim Shady is no stranger to controversy - and his "disgusting" lyrics about the Manchester Arena have certainly generated some heat online.
The hip-hop legend dropped a surprise album on Friday morning, but one line on the song "Unaccommodating" is causing more of a commotion than the release.
During the track, Eminem raps: "I’m contemplating yelling bombs away on the game like I’m outside an Ariana Grande concert, waiting" followed by an explosive sound effect.
The lyrics have already been widely condemned across the web.
22 people were killed in the Manchester Arena bombing in 2017.
Ariana Grande has not yet issued a response.
Users have taken to Twitter to react to the track, and whilst many are condemning the words, some are pointing out that Eminem has been irreverent all his career.
Others highlighted that the rapper actually helped raise money for victims of the attack.
Eminem really just referenced the Manchester bombing where 22 people were killed... how disgusting, it’s time to cancel this trash and Young MA to for thinking this song was ok @Eminem @YoungMAMusic #EminemIsOverParty pic.twitter.com/DLuzgc98OO— Joely (@tokyosnow_trip) January 17, 2020
You've either not listen to an Eminem song or you're just not into Hip Hop culture. By the way, he helped raised/donated $2m to support victims of the Manchester bombing. In what way have you helped the victims beyond getting enraged over a lyric on Twitter? https://t.co/ON5PUiC7eW— Dhee Sylvester (@DheeGenius) January 17, 2020
I bet none of you raised 2 million dollars for the bombing victims tho. https://t.co/ahWgVEoM27— Mickey Martinez (@TheMickeyM) January 17, 2020
'Music To Be Murdered By' is Eminem's first full-length release since 2018 and features a wide array of stars including Ed Sheeran, Anderson .Paak, Q-Tip, Skylar Grey and Royce da 5'9".
The eleventh studio album was announced on Twitter by Slim Shady himself, accompanied by the caption: “It’s your funeral.”
