The Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service is tackling an enormous blaze that’s broken out in Trafford Park.

A huge plume of smoke can be seen from right across the Greater Manchester region this afternoon as the fire rages.

Local residents are now being urged to keep windows and doors closed until emergency services can deal with the blaze.

People are also being asked to avoid the area while the incident is ongoing.

The smoke can be clearly seen from the city centre, as well as from locations like Sale Water Park.

The source of the fire is not yet known but appears to be from an industrial unit or warehouse on Trafford Park.
