Homeless man in Manchester reunited with ‘best friend’ Buddy after dog was reported missing
A homeless man in Manchester has been reunited with his beloved dog Buddy after a huge search effort this week.
Buddy the dog was reported missing on Wednesday, with charity Street Paws launching a campaign to have him returned.
The charity shared a heart-breaking photo of a hand-written sign that said: “Dog missing, please help.
“Homeless and he protects me. He is my baby and best friend. God bless.”
Street Paws, which provides veterinary care to homeless dogs in the north of England, wrote: “It is reported to us today that a lady has taken Buddy claiming to give him back after a couple of days to give his owner a rest.
“He is heartbroken and desperate to get his best friend back. Please share he is microchipped contact us if sighted.”
But the adorable pooch has now been safely returned to his owner, with a joyous photo showing the moment they were reunited.
People have been delighted to see the good news after hundreds shared the original post looking for Buddy.
One person wrote: “Oh my goodness! Look at Buddy smiling and his Daddy so pleased. This has warmed my heart. Stay safe you two. Sending hugs and thank u Street Paws for helping x”
Another said: “Beautiful news, they are meant to be together, they look so alike and have lovely happy smiles”
