Colson Smith stunned fans over the weekend after showing his incredible weight loss transformation.
The Coronation Street star, who plays Craig Tinker and has done so since 2011, regularly updates with fans on his fitness journey over social media and took to Instagram this weekend to share his latest post-run picture.
His latest picture was captioned: "Bank Holiday run done. Feet up & some family time while staying at home now! Have a good un folks"
It's believed that Colson decided to hit the gym and take up running earlier this year to make sure he was in shape for his storyline on Corrie.
Fans of the show will likely be aware that his character, who is a police officer, had also done the same upon discovering he became out of breath easily while chasing shoplifters and Craig even told his Weatherfield pals that he was going to make an effort to get healthier after being bullied at work.
Colson also revealed that No 1 Bootcamp, a fitness, weight loss and wellness retreat in Norfolk, was his "second home" back in February.
As well as crediting running and fitness as integral to his journey, he also revealed a rather more unfortunate event which may have helped to kick started his transformation before the start of the new year. Speaking on his podcast Sofa Cinema Club, which he hosts with fellow Corrie actors Jack P Shepherd and Ben Price, Colson explained that he ignored advice not to eat some seafood whilst on holiday in Thailand and subsequently had a bad bout of food poisoning.
He said: "I was in Ko Lanta. I was sat on the beach and the waiter came over and was like, 'What would you like?' And I said, 'I'll have the prawns to start please"
"I had avoided seafood [on Ben's advice] but I was sat on the beach and I was like, 'How can you not have seafood on the beach?"
"Well, anyway. I'm not doing that again. I've lost about a stone and a half."
After revealing his weight loss transformation on Instagram, many fans and fellow Corrie actors have come out to offer their words of support and encouragement for Colson.
Co-star Brooke Vincent, who plays commented: "CRAIG TINKERS GONNA HAVE GROUPEES VERY SOON.", Georgia Taylor, who plays Toyah Battersby, wrote: "You’re smashing it Cols." and Andy Whyment, who plays Kirk Sutherland, said: "Looking absolutely mega pal well done."
Colson regularly shares updates on his fitness journey via his Instagram.
