A man has been charged following the attacks that took place at the Arndale in October 2019.
Three people – two women and one man – were left wounded after being stabbed at the shopping centre.
Raphael Chevelleau, of no fixed abode, has been charged with the attacks.
The 42-year-old is now facing three counts of assault and two counts of attempted wounding, relating to four women and one man aged 21-60.
Chevelleau has been detained under the Mental Health Act and is due to appear at Manchester Magistrates’ Court on Friday 11 June.
Three people were hospitalised as a result of the attacks, according to Greater Manchester Police.
A fourth individual was treated for a “superficial” injury whilst a fifth person did not require hospital treatment.
