Mancunian grandpa says goodbye to NHS staff after recovering from ‘COVID positive pneumonia’

He's now back home recovering.

An 87 year old Mancunian man has been discharged from hospital today after recovering from 'Covid Positive Pneumonia'.

After spending two weeks at North Manchester Hospital, he is saying his goodbyes to the staff who took care of him and has now been allowed to return home to his wife and continue with the rest of his recovery process.

In a post that has since gone viral, Sophie Edwards shared a photo of her Grandpa leaving hospital on her Facebook page today, stating that: "we all need to hear some positive stories".

She continued: "Thank you to everyone for all their kindness and support through a difficult time and most of all thanks to the NHS".

The post has amassed hundreds of likes, comments and shares since posting and many have come forward to send their well wishes and express their delight at such a positive story.

It's just brilliant to hear some good news amid such tragic times!
