A patient who was recently admitted to Wythenshawe Hospital has tested positive for Coronavirus.
The hospital apparently remains open, with a spokesperson for Health and Social Care in Manchester urging patients not to cancel planned appointments as "risk to the public remains low."
However, officials are currently attempting to get in touch with those who could have been exposed to the virus in what is described as a contact tracing process.
The announcement brings the total number of confirmed cases in Greater Manchester to five, with three people from Bury and one person from Bolton also testing positive for the disease this week.
Make sure you call the NHS immediately on 111 if you have any concerns at all or think you, or someone else, is showing symptoms of the COVID-19 virus.
There are a now a total of 53 confirmed coronavirus cases in the UK.
