Police attempting to trace owners of stolen bikes and power tools recovered in raid

Police are attempting to trace the owners of more than a hundred different bikes and tools which were stolen and stashed away inside a Middleton property.

Officers from Greater Manchester Police force recovered dozens of items after executing a warrant at a property on Wordsworth Road in Rochdale in June.

Mountain bikes, drills, toolkits, laptops, a mobility scooter, and pieces of construction equipment were all found during the raid.

Police believe the items have been stolen from all over the Greater Manchester area.

Officers are now hoping to return the vehicles and tools to their rightful owners.

An open day is being held at Middleton Police Station this weekend on Saturday 24 July where people can reclaim their stolen belongings.

Those hoping to retrieve any items will need to bring ID and offer proof of purchase.

Constable Andy Gray, of GMPs Rochdale division said: “We have recovered a large amount of stolen property and we would very much like to see it reunited to as many rightful owners as possible.

“As well as releasing these images today, we are also planning an open day at Middleton Police Station, Oldham Road, on Saturday 24 July, between 9am-5pm.

“Anyone is free to come along, all we ask is that you bring proof of purchase/ownership of the item that you believe may belong to you, along with a form of ID.”
