Republic of Ireland is temporarily shutting schools, colleges and childcare facilities amid coronavirus fears.
Taoiseach Leo Varadkar announced the measures to the media on Thursday (12 March), with closures to take effect from 6pm.
Mr. Varadkar also said that gatherings of over 100 people - or outdoor events with more than 500 attendees - should be postponed or cancelled.
Shops, supply chains, restaurants and cafes will stay open, but the Taoiseach encouraged people to work from home if possible.
He also said the public should minimise social interaction to help prevent the spread.
One person has died due to the virus in Republic of Ireland, with an elderly woman passing away in Dublin on Wednesday.
