The Charlatan’s have just revealed new dates for their huge 30th Anniversary Best of UK tour – and the band has a special homecoming show planned for Manchester’s O2 Victoria Warehouse this December.

Kicking off at The Limelight in Belfast on the 22nd of November and finishing up in Aberdeen on the 20th of December 2021, the tour will see the band visit eighteen cities in total – stopping off in Manchester on 4th December.

Originally planned for last year, this run of shows was – like so many others – delayed due to Covid restrictions. But now we have renewed hope, with tickets going on sale later this month.

Known for hits such as ‘The Only One I Know’ and ‘Love Is Key’,  throughout their career The Charlatan’s have notched up an impressive thirteen Top 40 studio albums (three of them number ones), and twenty-two hit singles.

Still, the band are no strangers to difficulties, having suffered nervous breakdowns, near bankruptcy and the deaths of two founder members throughout their lengthy careers.

In spite of everything, or perhaps because of it, their music now feels more relevant than ever. The classic Charlatans sound – driving Hammond organ, Northern Soul and house-influenced rhythms, swaggering guitars and Tim Burgess’s sunny yet somehow yearning vocal – is instantly recognisable.

As part of the tour, they will also be releasing a special album box set featuring five albums and an exclusive seven-inch single on limited edition blue vinyl via Then Recordings on 15th October.

Titled A Head Full Of Ideas, the career-spanning collection sums up their remarkable progress from 1990 Manchester scene hopefuls to one of the UK’s most enduring and best-loved bands.

Tickets for the 30th anniversary show go on sale Friday 30th April at 10am via Ticketmaster.
