Two motorcyclists have died in a crash on the iconic Snake Pass road

Two people have tragically died after a fatal collision on the A57, better known to most as Snake Pass.

The picturesque and popular road through the Peak District was closed for seven hours following the horror smash.

The accident involved two red Ducati motorbikes and occurred at around 1.10pm on Sunday 11 August on the stretch through Holden Clough.

Tragically, both riders were pronounced dead at the scene.

They were a man in his 50s and another man in his 60s, and both sustained serious injuries.

Derbyshire Police are now looking for anyone who may have dashcam footage of the collision, or of the riders in the moments before the crash.
