They remain in hospital for treatment.

GMP officers are now investigating the firearms discharge in Moss Side, saying ‘we will never tolerate such acts in our city’.

The gunshot injuries occurred at around 10.50pm on Saturday 10 August, in the Claremont Road area.

No arrests have been made at the time of writing, while detectives try to establish the timeline of events.

Detective Superintendent Matt Walker, from Greater Manchester Police, said: “We are working hard to ensure a full and thorough investigation that uncovers exactly what occurred during this incident.

“Thankfully, the victims’ injuries are not believed to be life-threatening, but there could have been worse consequences to this act.

“While the investigation is very much in its early days, we are using all available resources to establish the full circumstances.

“We are committed to keeping the community safe and our response has already seen further officers deployed to the area for the reassurance of local residents. They will be more than happy to talk to you about any concerns you may have.

“I want people who live in the area to know that we will never tolerate such acts in our city, and we will be doing all we can to investigate all of its aspects.

“We will continue to provide a strong policing presence over the rest of the weekend and into the coming days, utilising all the appropriate resources we have.”
