Urgent appeal to identify a woman who has died at East Didsbury station

Detectives are desperate to notify her loved ones.

Police are urgently appealing for help to identify a woman who tragically died in East Didsbury last night.

Detectives hope to find the loved ones of the woman so they can inform them of her death.

Officers were called late last night to East Didsbury station to reports of a casualty on the tracks.

Tragically, emergency services declared a woman dead at the scene. There are no suspicious circumstances.

Detectives haven’t yet been able to identify the woman and so have launched an urgent appeal to the public.

She is described as a woman of large build aged between 40 and 50 years old.

She had short dark hair and glasses, and was wearing a floral top, black leggings, pink Gola trains and a purple Ori Loosen handbag.

Detective Inspector Ian Wright from British Transport Police said: “This is a tragic incident and we have been working tirelessly to try and identify the woman so we can inform her loved ones.

“She was wearing a number of distinctive items and I would urge anyone who thinks this description may sound familiar to get in touch with us as soon as possible.
