McDonald’s is reportedly looking set to reopen 700 restaurants for dine-in services across the UK and Ireland tomorrow.
The restaurants will be permitting table service only.
In a statement today, McDonald’s UK & Ireland said: “Social distancing measures will be in place and, to prevent congestion, the restaurant will carefully manage the number of customers inside. When arriving, customers will be asked to use the hand sanitiser provided and follow the safety measures laid out in restaurants to help keep them, other customers and restaurant teams safe.”
“Food will be served by table-service only with customers able to order directly to their table via the My McDonald’s App, at the till or kiosk.”
McDonald’s will also be asking dine-in customers to leave contact details by using their smart phone to either scan a QR code taking them to a webpage, or by visiting that webpage directly with details provided on each table.
Customer toilets are also reportedly reopening too.
The changes which McDonald’s is looking to make to ensure people can eat in restaurants again include:
McDonald’s also announced last week that it is introducing the VAT reduction and slashing the price on many of its fan-favourite menu items, and some of the 700 restaurants catering for table-dining are also taking part in the Eat Out to Help Out scheme, which sees customers get up to £10 off their dinner bill.
It has not been confirmed as of yet which restaurants will be reopening for dine-in, nor has it been indicated when further branches will begin permitting the service.
