A casting call has been issued for people in Manchester to feature as paid extras in the new series of Peaky Blinders.

The BAFTA award-winning crime show has been given the thumbs-up for a sixth season – with Cillian Murphy and co due to return to screens in 2021.

Filming is scheduled to commence in the early part of next year – and Manchester has once again been chosen as the perfect backdrop for the period drama.

Talent agency LB Casting Ltd posted an advert on social media earlier this week featuring a faded image of a man in a flat cap – sporting an uncanny resemblance to the ones worn throughout the run of Peaky Blinders.

The ad reads: “We are looking for people based in the north of England to be part of a very well known BBC period drama shooting early 2021 in Manchester.”

An accompanying message clarifies: “This is paid work (PACT Equity rates) but travel and accommodation are not provided. Ideally we are looking for people who drive due to early call times and late finishes. Please ensure you can independently get to and from Manchester outside of peak times.”

You must be aged 16 or over to apply – and there’s some very specific criteria to enter.

First and foremost, men must be willing to have their heads shaved, with “no modern beards or facial hair”.

Women applicants must have “mid to shoulder length hair” and “no dyed hair or obvious highlights.”

To be in with a chance of appearing on the Peaky Blinders set – and getting paid for the privilege – you’ll need to send an email to apply@lbccastingltd.co.uk with your full name, age, location, contact number and two “current selfies.”
