The owner of a supercar could be facing a lifetime ban from driving after police find it parked illegally in Manchester city centre.
Greater Manchester Police’s (GMP) City Centre division has gone viral after taking to social media over the weekend to expose the driver of a bright red Ferrari, who took it upon themselves to illegally park the flashy vehicle on double yellow lines on Lloyd Street in the heart of the city centre, and then leave it unattended.
GMP City Centre confirmed the supercar also had no legal registration plates.
And if all of that wasn’t bad enough as it is, the vehicle was parked up the facing the wrong way next to a huge painted road sign explaining that it’s a one-way street.
In the now-viral post shared to Facebook, GMP City Centre explained that the registered driver of the supercar already had nine points on their license and that officers who found the vehicle have now reported it to court.
The picture of the supercar shared to GMP City Centre’s Facebook has racked up thousands of interactions and hundreds of comments from local residents.
Recounting the incident as it happened, GMP City Centre said in its caption: “We normally police buses and trams, but if you’re going to make it easy for us, then drive your supercar the wrong way into a one way street without displaying legal registration plates.
“Driver on 9 points reported to court, will he be banned?
“GMP Transport Unit strikes again.”
