Whether you’re visiting the home of the Red Devils and Man City for the first time or you’re here for the shopping, Manchester is the place to be if you crave some excitement on a night out.
But better yet, it’s also home to some of the best casinos in the country.
We’ve listed the top spots to go for games of roulette, blackjack or poker right here.
Enjoy!
Grosvenor Casino Didsbury
Located in Parrs Wood Entertainment Centre, this place is open 24 hours a day and doesn’t require a membership card, but you would be wise to observe the casino dress code (smart casual) and etiquette to avoid feeling out of place.

Inside, you will find a large, open gaming area, a twelve-table room dedicated just for poker, as well as a decent restaurant, bar, and a conference room. Besides poker, you can also play blackjack, roulette, baccarat, or try to hit a jackpot at one of the many electronic gaming machines.
The place is located just a few miles away from the city centre, so it’s best to reach it by car. Fortunately, there’s a free parking area provided for customers. And if you’re looking for something else to do, you’ll also find a cinema, more restaurants, bars, and a bowling alley in the area.

Manchester 235 Casino
There are all sorts of entertainment options available here, but Blackjack is definitely the most popular card game in Manchester 235 casino. If you’re not entirely sure about how to play, you can sign up for their “learn to play” experience where you’ll sit down with an experienced dealer for a 40-minute intensive learning session for as little as £20.
If you want to develop your skills even further before stepping up to the green felt in a land-based casino, you may also experiment with online blackjack gaming rooms from trusted providers as some of them will even allow you to observe the action as a spectator or even play a couple of rounds for free.
Manchester 235 is not only about card games though. It’s a whole entertainment complex set in Great Northern Warehouse, where you can find a fancy James Martin restaurant or have your favourite cocktail at one of the stylish bars (that are open all night). The venue is open every day of the week, employs friendly staff, and you don’t even need a membership card so you can just pop in to check it out.

Grosvenor Casino Soames
This is another venue in town falling under the banner of the popular Grosvenor brand. You’ll find it on 35-39 George Street, which is a perfect central spot surrounded by various restaurants, bars, and clubs.
Perhaps it’s not as vast and glamorous as the other casino venues in town, but it’s definitely newbie-friendly. Inside, you’ll find dozens of slot machines, as well as tables for craps, blackjack, roulette, baccarat, and poker. If you’re not sure about the rules governing these games, ask the staff and they’ll be happy to help you out.
Also, if all this casino play excitement makes you hungry, you’ll have free access to a restaurant serving prime quality meals until late in the night.
Genting Casino
Located just a few steps away from Grosvenor Casino Soames, Genting is a perfect place to have some fun during the evening. It’s a sizeable venue where you can roam freely and watch the action at the tables before putting your money on the line.
There are even special spots where you can learn the rules of the game if you need a refresher. The interior is beautiful and there’s plenty of space for a whole group of friends to enjoy the evening, so make sure you don’t miss out on this one.
You can find a few more out there, but don’t settle for anything less than the best, especially if you want to impress your friends or date. After all, you want a casino spot brimming with class, where you can not only dress up and feel special but perhaps even win some cash while you’re there!

Celebrate Cinco de Mayo with FREE tacos and frozen margaritas at House of Social
Danny Jones
Manchester, get ready for a fine ol’ springtime fiesta, as city centre food hall, bar, and meeting place, House of Social, is hosting a special Cinco de Mayo celebration with tonnes of free tacos and frozen margaritas up for grabs.
Well, one of their wonderful in-house vendors will be sorting the scran and margs, but either way, you don’t want to miss this one.
Teaming up with local ‘Mexicali’ kitchen, OK Taqueria, the popular First Street neighbourhood hangout will be slinging lip-smacking cocktails, fresh tortillas packed with the good stuff, and serving up good vibes throughout the day.
We will warn you – the freebies will only be available for a limited time, but we still know where we’ll be for this year’s Hispanic holiday.
They made things pretty simple for Cinco de Mayo 2026; as the post read, they’re giving away “FREE build your own tacos from 12-2pm, along with a healthy supply of frozen margs this Tuesday 5 May, quipping: “Is it even a Tuesday without a free taco?”
And yes, if it’s only just clicked, the name does just mean the fifth day of May (honestly, it took us until our late teens to realise this).
Clarifying that the offer is strictly first-come, first-served – and once they run out, they are out – there’s not much else to tell you, really.
Just take their advice: “Get in early, get involved, get FED”.
OK Taqueria is one of five fabulous indie traders currently located inside House of Social (HoS), including the likes of Mughli, Choi Wan, Burger and Beyond, and Dough Religion, who recently gave us that viral and rather large chicken Caesar wrap.
Yes, it is as hefty and delicious as it looks.
But back to OK Taqueria, their fusion of smoky Mexican street snacks and the Californian food truck culture speaks for itself, and we can’t wait to fill our faces come lunchtime on 5 May, 2026.
Whilst you’re here, if you haven’t visited HoS yourself yet, you really need to tick it off your list; with a great selection of food and drinks, multiple floors and a lovely terrace with numerous benches, coverings and even outdoor heaters, it’s perfect for this time of year.

Chester Zoo named UK’s best zoo for third year in a row with record number of ‘excellent’ ratings
Emily Sergeant
It’s official… Chester Zoo has been named to best zoo in the UK for 2026.
While everyone in and around Greater Manchester and the North West may already be familiar with just how brilliant the UK’s biggest charity zoo is, you may remember that, for the past two years running now, it has been officially named the UK’s best zoo thanks to tens of thousands of positive TripAdvisor reviews.
And now, the zoo has managed to retain that respectable title for the third year in a row, as the world’s biggest travel guidance platform has, once again, named Chester Zoo as the best-rated zoo to visit in the UK this year.
It’s even more of a cause for celebration this year, as the zoo has claimed a record 11,666 ‘excellent’ ratings for the first time.

Based on millions of online reviews, the updated ranking puts the beloved Cheshire-based attraction ahead of the country’s other zoos after earning consistently good feedback from its visitors.
Not only has the zoo’s strong focus on conservation and unforgettable visitor experiences made it the best in our country, but this has also earned it a place among Europe’s elite too – with the new listings placing it in the top 10 best zoos or aquariums in the continent.
“We’re over the moon to be named the UK’s top zoo by TripAdvisor,” commented Jamie Christon, who is the CEO of Chester Zoo.
“This recognition is built entirely on genuine reviews from our visitors, and that means the world to us. I’m very proud of everyone who makes our national conservation zoo such a special place.
“Every visit to Chester Zoo directly supports our vital conservation work, both here at home and around the world, and the past year alone is a reminder of just how much that work matters.
“We’ve developed the world’s first vaccine for a deadly virus that threatens Asian elephants globally, we’ve officially pulled a tiny species of snail back from the brink of extinction, and right here on our doorstep we’ve been planting thousands of new trees to create important new woodland habitat.
