Euro 2020 is kicking off this weekend.
After a year of postponement due to the pandemic, European football’s flagship tournament has finally arrived, with 24 countries – including three UK home nations England, Scotland and Wales – battling it out for the trophy.
Turkey will face Italy in the first match of the highly-anticipated tournament this Friday, with Gareth Southgate’s England squad up against World Cup 2018 finalists Croatia in their first match on Sunday 13 June.
Manchester is a city that’s obsessed with football, so understandably, there’s plenty of venues going all out for the Euros this year.
We’ve been inundated with messages over the past few weeks from our loyal audience keen to find out the best places to catch a match this summer, so we’ve knuckled down and done the leg work for you.
Here are 20 of the best spots to watch Euro 2020 in Manchester city centre this summer.

Great Northern Beach Club
Great Northern
Great Northern Beach Club is doing summer and sports in style this year.
Not only will there be a huge projector screening all of the important Euro 2020 matches for footy fans in the main bar of the Sunset Lounge – which is a seaside-style resort slap-bang in the middle of Manchester city centre – but they’re also taking bookings for exclusive private beach huts too, which each feature a 42’ TV screen, a welcome drinks package, and your own personal host.

Hotel Football & Cafe Football
Old Trafford
Named Manchester’s “home of the Euros” and owned by the Class of ’92, you’d expect Old Trafford’s Hotel Football to be showing all the important matches this summer. Not only will the venue be screening games live – with tickets priced at £10 – but two drinks are included in the ticket price, and you can also bag a table to eat.
Confirmed screenings so far include England’s games with Croatia (13 June), Scotland (18 June), and the Czech Republic (22 June).
The hotel’s in-house venue, Cafe Football, is also going going all out for the Euros too, with six-pint beer towers and sharing platters sporting a selection of dishes from competing countries.
They’ll be screening all the Euro games live, with packages priced from £24 per person.
Impossible MCR

There’s no denying that Impossible MCR made quite a name for itself as a football lovers destination during the 2018 World Cup, drawing in crowds from far and wide – and the Peter Street venue looks set to repeat history again this summer.
After being inundated with requests to show matches outside on the venue’s huge outdoor terrace this summer, Impossible MCR has confirmed it is hoping to screen the Euros on big screens to make sure everyone gets to see the action sometime after 21 June (restrictions depending) – but for now, “it’s table bookings only”.

Gorilla
Whitworth Street
After the 2018 World Cup saw some epic scenes in the iconic Whitworth Street independent venue, Gorilla is inviting football fans to come and share some socially-distanced “joys and pains of watching England play in another tournament” this summer.
Each of England’s group stage fixtures will be shown live on large screens throughout the bar – with 20% off drinks available in the hour before kick-off.

O’Sheas Beer Garden
Piccadilly
Manchester’s massive new Irish-themed outdoor beer garden has announced its on board to showcase “every minute, every emotion and every goal” of England’s matches at Euro 2020, with large screens set up to catch all the action.
Bookings are limited and only available on tables of four, five and six.

The Oast House
Spinningfields
After huge success in previous years and becoming one of the go-to venues for footy fans, ever-popular Spinningfields sun trap The Oast House has announced the return of its huge outdoor screen ready for Euro 2020.
There’s a full schedule of matches on the venue’s website that will be screened for free, but all England games will be ticketed at £10 each in tables of six, with every ticket including a free pint in the price.
Tickets will go on sale in batches from 4pm on June 8 – and the first batch will include England’s games against Croatia and Scotland.

Northern Quarter
Twenty Twenty Two may have made a name for itself as “Manchester’s no.1 ping pong bar” over the years, but the popular Northern Quarter hangout is also expected to be going all out for the Euros by showing a selection of the important matches on screens around the venue.

With projected screens dotted right around the multi-floored venue, Brickhouse Social is always a popular hangout for football fans all year round, and with Euro 2020 obviously being such a special occasion, you can expect this summer to be the same.

Peter Street’s 1920s-themed bar Peaky Blinders is really pulling out all the stops for this year’s Euros, and will be showing every single match of the tournament – not just England’s – live on screens dotted throughout the venue.
The venue has also announced a range of VIP food and drink packages for groups of four to six people, which are available now.

The Smithfield Social

The Northern Quarter’s beloved community hub The Smithfield Social has confirmed it will be showing a selection of the important matches at Euro 2020 on screens dotted around the venue this summer, with all tables socially distanced for up to six people.
The venue recommends booking 90 minutes before kick-off for the England games, so you’ve got some time to get involved with the atmosphere.

Point Blank

It might not be the first place that springs to the mind for football fans, but Manchester’s only virtual shooting range, Point Blank, has quite a swish cocktail menu as well as a good selection of beers and spirit mixes, making it an ideal destination to catch the Euros this summer.
From 18 June, the venue will be changing its usual 132′ inch screens from shooting scenarios to your own VIP football experience, with some VIP packages even including drinks, pizza and shooting after the game.
Matches will also be shown on screens in the bar area, but advanced booking is required as there is limited availability.

Corn Exchange & Spinningfields
Both Banyan’s Manchester city centre locations are going all out for England’s group stage matches at the Euros this year, with the Corn Exchange venue showing all the games on HD screens inside and two large screens outdoors, and the Spinningfields restaurant also screening the games alongside dedicated commentary.

With an extensive, American-inspired grill menu and some great drinks deals, The Shack Bar and Grill in the Northern Quarter is always a popular choice for footy fans all year round – and Euro 2020 is expected to be no different, as there’s indoor tables ready to book from £35, and booths with private screens for all the important matches from £50.
Ticket prices include food, beers, and a reserved seat.
The venue also boats a decent sized beer garden in prime position for an outdoor screen, so keep your eyes peeled for future announcements as restrictions ease further.

The Northern Quarter’s ever-popular New York-style bar tucked away underneath the iconic Afflecks is yet another venue expected to be putting on a party for the Euros by showing all the important matches from the tournament on a selection of screens big enough to catch all the action.
On top of that, Salt & Pepper MCR has also just recently taken over the kitchen at the Black Dog NQ as a permanent resident, as if you needed any more reason to head on down.

Another one of the Northern Quarter’s popular hangouts, Dive Bar & Grill has announced that it will be showing all the important matches at this year’s Euros on indoor HD screens, with bookings now open from 11 June and right through to 25 June.
While advanced booking is always recommended, unlike many other venues in the city, Dive is accepting walk-ins.

Barca Bar
Castlefield
This Castlefield gastropub has it all for football fans – canal-side dining, plenty of outdoor seating if the sun does shine, and loads of big screens that have been installed throughout its collection of event spaces, ready for showing all the important matches live.
With a maximum group booking of six, general admission tickets will be £10 per person and each include a pitcher of either Heineken or Coors.

King Street
Manchester’s social darts bar Flight Club is inviting the city’s football fans to “watch every England match whilst soaking up the atmosphere in our glorious bar”, where you’ll be able to order food and drinks to accompany the action at the touch of a button from tables.
If you decide to book an oche, you’ll have an hour before and after the match to test your throw and play social darts with your mates.

Considering the popular venue is owned by former Manchester United stars, Gary Neville and Ryan Giggs, it’d be remiss of the Stock Exchange Hotel not to screen the Euros this summer, so it’ll be doing just that in its private event space, The Vault – which is already fitted out with six large TV screens so “you won’t miss any memorable moments”.

Yet another of the Northern Quarter’s best-loved venues pulling out all the stops for this year’s Euros, Tariff & Dale has announced it will be showing a whole host of the tournament’s matches – again, not just England – live on two large screens, complete with surround sound and a dedicated viewing room for football fans to soak up every last second of the action.
