This Manchester bar is selling roast dinner-flavoured cocktails with ‘all the trimmings’
Putting together potato vodka, cranberry, rosemary, Christmas stuffing 'air' and more, this roast in a glass brings a whole new meaning to 'liquid lunch' - and there's pudding, too
A Manchester bar is selling a festive roast dinner cocktail with ‘all the trimmings’ – and we really just can’t get over how good it sounds.
The limited-edition savoury cocktail combines the flavours of the ultimate Christmas roast, putting together potato, cranberry, rosemary, stuffing and more – bringing a whole new meaning to the term ‘liquid lunch’.
Aptly called ‘All the Trimmings’, the team describes the savoury cocktail as “an explosion of savoury, festive flavours if you’re after something more daring”.

Made with cranberry juice, festive syrup, Ketel One potato vodka, torched rosemary and a Christmas stuffing air, it sounds like our perfect roast dinner – albeit, served in a glass.
And that’s not all.

The little elves at The Alchemist have thought about pudding, too – giving you two courses of Sunday lunch in purely liquid form.
Covering the pudding department and all sweet tooths who might not be interested in going full-savoury, is a mince pie flavoured twist on an old fashioned.

Made with mincemeat-infused Appleton Estate rum, bitters, and sugar, it’s diluted slightly before serving by being quickly stirred over ice.
Available for one weekend only, both cocktails will be served at The Alchemist on New York Street from Thursday 28, October across the coming weekend. / Image: The Alchemist
Both cocktails have been created in collaboration with Great! Christmas movies, in a bid to get everyone into the Christmas spirit early this year.
The channel, which you can find on Sky319, Freeview 51, Virgin 424 and Freesat 303, is showing a host of back-to-back Christmas movies from now until the big day itself – including titles like A Christmas Melody, starring Mariah Carey, Just In Time For Christmas featuring Christopher Lloyd and On Strike For Christmas.

And that’s not all, further festive favourites on show include The Christmas Sitters, Beaus of Holly, family comedy Call Me Claus with Whoopi Goldberg, A Husband for Christmas, and Crazy for Christmas.
Available for one weekend only, both cocktails will be served at The Alchemist on New York Street from Thursday 28, October across the coming weekend.

Pizza Pilgrims is finally coming to Manchester with a bold new Neapolitan pizzeria
Daisy Jackson
One of the UK’s fastest-growing pizza restaurant groups (nope, not Rudy’s) is finally set to touch down in Manchester.
Signs have appeared on Deansgate for the city’s first Pizza Pilgrims site, taking over the now-closed tapas restaurant La Vina.
Pizza Pilgrims has been operating since 2011, and now has 25 restaurants right across the UK – but hasn’t made it to Manchester until now.
Their restaurants are famed for their colourful and maximalist interiors, with Italian-inspired decor dripping off every surface.
Expect checkered tablecloths, giant lemons hanging from the ceiling, retro posters, colourful shutters and even washing lines hung with Italian football shirts.
At their site in Leeds, which opened in 2023, there’s even a giant pink flamingo pedalo that’s been turned into a self-serve gelato stand for customers to create their own sweet treats.
On the menus, Pizza Pilgrims is all about double-fermented dough bases, cooked at 500 ̊C to give a light, chewy and charred crust, just like in Naples.
Highlights from their menus include an eight-cheese pizza, a carbonara-inspired pizza, and the ‘You’ve Got Maiale’, topped with nduja, Italian sausage, pepperoni, and a balsamic glaze.
They also serve irresistible fried cacio e pepe balls, stuffed with spaghetti, pecorino cheese and black pepper.
Pizza Pilgrims will open on Deansgate in Manchester later this month – you can find out more and sign up for freebies when it launches HERE.

Community festival Universally Manchester returns this weekend with a FREE day of fun
Emily Sergeant
A community festival with dozens of free events and activities for all the family is returning to Manchester this weekend.
After what was a successful turnout last summer to celebrate 200 years since the University of Manchester (UoM) first welcomed students through its doors, with more than 150 immersive events on the lineup, Universally Manchester is back this weekend, and the popular festival has a jam-packed day of fun to look forward to.
Oh, and it’s FREE fun, at that.
As part of the university’s civic commitment to ‘enhancing’ its relationship with members of Manchester‘s local communities, the annual university-wide festival will back for its sixth year this Saturday.
Running since 2017, the university’s campus turns into a welcoming space for thousands of visitors from Greater Manchester and beyond, so they can discover all the important work the institution does.
The festival aims to be an ‘inviting and informal space’ for visitors to meet the university’s staff and students, while UoM also gets to play an integral part in conversations that connect people and inspire future generations.
Kicking off from 11am this Saturday (14 June), you can expect there to be something for everyone during this free day jam-packed with fun activities for all the family.
