Celine Dion has had to reschedule her concerts in Manchester once again, this time due to health issues.
The pop icon has posted an emotional video on social media, explaining that she is ‘experiencing spasms’ and not recovering as quickly as she’d hoped.
The My Heart Will Go On singer had already had to push her Courage world tour back due to the pandemic.
Her planned shows at the AO Arena Manchester, which were supposed to be on 5 and 6 June, have now been rescheduled again to next spring.

“First we had to move the shows because of the pandemic – now this my health issues that is causing us to postpone some shows.
“The good news is that I’m doing a little bit better, but it’s going very slow, and it’s very frustrating for me.

“You know I’m getting treatment from my doctors, taking medication, but I’m still experiencing some spasm and it’s taking a lot longer for me to recover than I had hoped.
“I need to be in top shape when I’m on stage. I honestly can’t wait, but I’m just not there yet.
“Just telling you how I feel and I wanted you to know that I’m sorry for this news.
“I know you’ve all waited so long for the concerts and I appreciate your loyalty. By now I am convinced that you should be so fed up of all of this, you know, waiting for so long.
“But all I can say is that I’m doing my very best to get back to the level that I need to be, so that I can give 100% at my shows, because that’s what you deserve. Yeah.
“And thank you so much for the messages of love and support that you always send to my social media. It means a lot to me. Hope to see you soon. Until then, you take care, okay? I love you so much. Bye.”
Celine Dion’s gigs at the AO Arena Manchester will now take place on 5 and 6 April, 2023.

A hilarious and award-winning Star Wars burlesque show is coming to Manchester
Danny Jones
In a galaxy not so far away, a smash-hit Star Wars parody and burlesque show is coming to Manchester city centre in the New Year.
You may have heard of the funny Star Wars stripper show or even seen clips of it online, but rumour has it that nothing can quite prepare you for the cheekiness of seeing this romp in the flesh.
In case you’ve been completely immersed in the dark side until now, here’s what you can expect:
Now well over a decade into its success and more than 200 Las Vegas shows, ‘The Empire Strips Back’ made its long-awaited transatlantic debut earlier this year.
Getting away at London’s Riverside Studios from May and enjoying a run until this past August, the comedy-driven twist on the classic Star Wars stories and beloved sci-fi characters was an instant hit with us Brits.
It started in Australia way back in 2011 and has gone not only to tour across Europe, but land a coveted residency at the Rio Hotel and Casino in Nevada.
Fast, funny, feisty and by all accounts, fantastic.
Now set to seek out new padawans and storm-strippers all over the cosmos, and by that we mean the UK, ‘The Empire Strips Back: Burlesque Parody’ is coming to Manchester.
Set to land at Depot Mayfield in the New Year – next spring, specifically, we cannot wait to see how this goes down with Northern crowds.
The Manc leg is scheduled to kick off on 6 March and last until 8 May, 2026, with various dates and times of day available.
It’s also worth noting that this two-hour show, including intermission, is a strictly 18+ only event; if you’re interested, you can find out more info and grab your tickets right HERE.
Sankeys shares sneak peek at new venue as legendary Manchester nightclub gears up for return
Daisy Jackson
Sankeys has given Mancs a glimpse inside its new venue as the legendary nightclub gears up for its return.
The club was one of Manchester’s top nightlife spots for years, before shutting down seemingly for good almost a decade ago.
Set within Beehive Mill in Ancoats, Sankeys was a true icon of Manchester’s global nightlife scene.
And while the old Sankeys Soap nightlife space is now full of co-working spaces, the spirit of Sankeys is about to be reborn.
The exact location of the new club is still being kept under wraps ahead of its reopening at the end of January, but new renderings have been released to give us a glimpse of how it will look.
Sankeys is promising ‘A reimagined space. New energy. Same legendary nights’.
The new Sankeys Manchester will be a 500-capacity venue, designed to ‘capture the raw underground energy that made Sankeys one of the most iconic club brands in the world’.
It will feature an LED matrix grid installation that will immerse clubbers in ‘light, sound and atmosphere’.
Sankeys Manchester officially opens on 30 January – you can see a glimpse of how it will look below and grab tickets HERE.
