Manchester’s smashed burger takeaway sensation Burgerism is teaming up with Leeds’ dessert favourites Get Baked to offer some ridiculously good desserts to diners.
In what promises to be a marriage of pure, unadulterated deliciousness, the news was teased out on Instagram by Leeds-based dessert favourites Get Baked earlier this month – and we couldn’t be more excited.
Announcing that a collaboration between the two brands would be coming son. Get Baked’s owner has told Manchester followers to: “hold onto your f*cking Oasis album or what ever it is you use for comfort over there. It’s gonna be special this one.”

The post continued: “Keep your eyes peeled as well because obviously that’s important. Alright, all the best. GB x @burgerism”
Speaking to The Manc a representative for Burgerism confirmed that a long-term collaboration was in the pipeline, but that the details were “still fairly under wraps for now.”

They added: “We love everything about Get Baked – their desserts are mega – and can’t wait to announce more in due course” before revealing that the plan is to offer Get Baked’s super indulgent brownies as part of the Burgerism menu.
“The plan will be to offer Get Baked brownies as a part of the Burgerism menu – so yes it’s a Burgerism X Get Baked collab – but we see it more as a long term thing, or a partnership, rather than a one-off.

“We’ve never had a fixed dessert offering at Burgerism and it’s something fans have requested over the years; but at Burgerism we really only believe in the best – so that’s where the idea to speak with Rich and the team at Get Baked came from. We wouldn’t want dessert to be some sort of after-thought.”
“We’ll reveal more soon – and more than likely fans will be able to order Get Baked from Burgerism in the very near future!”
For foodies who’ve been scranning in Manchester for some time, Get Baked won’t be a new name – having first launched here in Manchester over a decade ago as a munchies delivery service popular with local students.

The dessert business was first founded from a Leeds kitchen in 2011, quickly growing a cult following as word spread out into neighbouring cities including Manchester.

It quickly amassed more than 50,000 followers across social media, with people eager to keep up to date with their humorous content and mouth-watering food pictures.
Then, in the midst of its success, it shut down following what has been described as an “unsuccessful” venture into the restaurant business with The Joint in Leeds city centre.
The bakery returned in June last year, with the help of backing from new investors and has since gone viral once again – with its owner even being interviewed on American TV thanks to the phenomena now known as ‘sprinklegate’, which saw the business reported for using ‘illegal’ sprinkles.
Known for producing a range of indulgent treats including itsgiant Matilda-inspired ‘Bruce’ chocolate cakes, delivery is already available UK wide but the option to enjoy treats as part of a Burgerism order have certainly got us excited in The Manc office.

Stretford’s free neighourhood festival returns this weekend

Stretford’s still fledgling and completely free all-day festival is BACK for 2026 and is happening this coming weekend.
So, if you didn’t have plans this Saturday, you do now.
Simply named StretFest, this is the third edition of the now annual celebration in one of Manchester’s fastest growing neighbourhoods – and an increasingly up-and-coming one at that.
Kicking off in the morning and running right into the wee small hours thanks to a healthy dose of varied daytime activities, evening events and de facto afterparties, there’s plenty on the cards.

StretFest only started back in July 2024, but it has quickly grown into a cult favourite not only among locals living in and around the Trafford town, but also among plenty of people from all over Greater Manchester, with last year seeing more visitors than ever.
Based not just over at Stretford Mall but the surrounding parks, Public Hall, across the bridge and an area they dub ‘The Beach’, there are several distinct but equally vibrant hubs, all offering something different.
For instance, venues like Longford Tap, Head Bar and Stretford Canteen are all involved, as are the likes of the Library and Martin Luther Church, but also recently opened cafes like Swig and Cuppello’s, as well as many, many more.
To be honest, we’ll probably be popping over for all the food and drink alone.
And, of course, there’s going to be plenty of live music, DJ sets, other bits of entertainment, and all-around fun to be enjoyed; there’s even going to be everything from arts, crafts and workshops, to pirates and boat rides.
Getting underway from as early 9am – thanks to the likes of the regular Stretford parkrun crew teaming up with the festival, and Mr & Mrs hosting a coffee morning for their first birthday – there really is going to be something for everyone from start to finish.

Manchester’s largest Sostrene Grene opens its doors in Manchester Arndale

Sostrene Grene, the much-loved affordable homeware brand, has opened a brand-new store in Manchester city centre.
The Danish business has opened inside the Manchester Arndale today, in a whopping 4,952 sq ft store (opposite the Body Shop, if you’re looking for it).
As always, the new retail space showcases Sostrene Grene’s contemporary – yet surprisingly affordable – home decor, furniture, and stylish lifestyle products.
And shopping here is arguably unlike any other experience on the high street, thanks to its unique layout and winding aisles making it feel like you’re discovering something new around every corner.
The new space shows off a brand-new, full Easter range, with items like pretty pastel bud vases, bunny-shaped candles, tulip mugs, and even Easter-patterned gift wrap.
As with all Sostrene Grene stores, you’ll find a small kitchen section selling cooking and baking essentials for incredible prices, alongside ingredients like cake mixes, jams, and olives.
Then there’s a full tea selection, including a self-serve loose lead tea station.
The new Sostrene Grene at Manchester Arndale offers a vast range of wrapping paper, gift bags and cards, as well as a full wall of candles in every colour of the rainbow (and priced from 40p).
Head around again and you’ll find yourself in the brand’s crafting section, where you can pick up everything from stickers and stamps to beads and thread, plus loads of painting and art supplies.
On top of that, there’s stationery (and where else are you picking up a notepad for £1.76?), plant pots and garden decor, storage baskets, picture frames, rugs, bathroom bits, more candles, hair accessories,
You can even shop for the little ones, picking up soft toys, wooden toys, and kids craft supplies.
And before you leave, you’ll pass through loads of nostalgic sweets like liquorice, sticks of rock, and jelly sweets – and even miniature Easter eggs in their own egg carton.
