Green Day have just confirmed a huge stadium gig in Manchester as part of their newly-announced The Saviors Tour.
The tour will mark 30 years since the release of their iconic album Dookie, and 20 years of American Idiot.
Green Day’s massive global stadium run will visit the Emirates Old Trafford cricket ground next summer, with some big names supporting.
Their Manchester gig will feature Nothing But Thieves and Maid of Ace as support acts, while other gigs on the European leg will have support from The Hives, Donots and The Interrupters.
The American punk rockers, consisting of Billie Joe Armstrong, Mike Dirnt and Tré Cool, will kick off in Spain on 30 May, before reaching the UK.
Green Day will perform at Emirates Old Trafford on Friday 21 June 2024, with other UK dates including Glasgow and London.
Green Day shared: “We’ve never been more excited to unleash new music than with Saviors, a record that’s meant to be rocked live, together. So let’s thrash. We’ve got some amazing friends who are coming along for the ride!”
Both Dookie and American Idiot have become cultural phenomenons and remained at the forefront of punk culture – and the massive hits from both albums will be played alongside new music from their upcoming album, Saviors.
Green Day already premiered two new songs, The American Dream Is Killing Me and the brand new Look Ma, No Brains!.
General sale tickets for Green Day’s Manchester gig will go on sale on Friday 10 November at 9.30am.
There will also be an exclusive presale on Wednesday 8 November from 9.30am for anyone who pre-ordered Saviors by 7 November.
