Manchester’s night time economy adviser Sacha Lord has announced details of an almighty region-wide happy hour.
Saying it’s ‘about time he bought everyone a pint’, the Parklife boss will be partnering with pubs to put on free drinks.
He said that he’ll be coughing up for an hour’s free drinks right across Greater Manchester throughout summer.
The Manchester Hospitality Hour has been created to thank the support that people have shown hospitality since the pandemic began.

Sacha says he’ll be at every happy hour event to personally thank those who work in and support the industry.

The first spot will be the Adelphi Lads Club in Salford this weekend.
Sacha said: “This is all about getting together and thanking the people of Greater Manchester for their support over the past two and a half years.

“As a city region, we suffered tougher restrictions than any other during the pandemic, and now with the difficult economic environment, our operators are once again at the precipice of closure.
“It’s about time I bought everyone a pint, and what better way than to launch a summer hospitality hour across our ten boroughs.
“I’m looking forward to being at each one to personally thank landlords and staff and the punters who have kept our sector going.”
Callum Broom, co-owner and operator of the Adelphi Lads Club said: “We are delighted to be the first venue for Sacha’s Manchester Hospitality Hour this Sunday and hope to see as many people down here as possible.
“The past two years have been the most challenging of our industry, and his continued support and championing of the city-region has been invaluable, and this is a great way to give back those who have supported us all through this time.”

Big Mamma Group opens incredible Italian restaurant Circolo Popolare in Manchester

Circolo Popolare, a lavish Italian restaurant from Big Mamma Group, is now ready to open in Manchester for the first time.
This incredible space marks the first time the acclaimed restaurant group has ventured up north, with restaurants already thriving in London and other cities across Europe.
They promised big things from their interiors, and they’ve certainly delivered on that.
As you step inside this two-storey restaurant just off Albert Square (it’s at the foot of Gary Neville’s £400m St Michael’s development), you’ll feel like you’ve been whisked off to an Italian island.
Downstairs in Circolo Popolare in Manchester is a twinkling paradise with a jasmine-clad ceiling, reels of festoon lighting, and antique trinkets tucked into every corner.
The large windows are lined with thousands of vintage booze bottles and on each table you’ll find hand-painted crockery designed especially for Big Mamma Group.
Upstairs, there’s a cosy, ivy-covered space inspired by a Sicilian courtyard, with a huge open kitchen at one end where you can see the chefs at work.
They’re working on dishes like gigantic bowls of truffle pasta, authentic Neapolitan pizzas (made the traditional way with thinner crusts, rather than the puffed-up contemporary style we see so much of these days), and Italian small plates.
As for dessert, the star of the show is their six-inch-tall lemon meringue pie, crowned in a wobbling tower of torched meringue.
But you also shouldn’t skip out on their tiramisu, scooped straight into your bowl table-side.
