A man has sadly died after being hit by a tram late on Sunday evening.
Emergency services were called to Deansgate-Castlefield tram station to reports of a collision involving a tram and a pedestrian.
The victim, an adult male, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police are now appealing for information following the incident, which took place shortly after 11.10pm last night.
Enquiries are ongoing and no arrests have been made.

Sergeant Matthew Waggett, of GMP’s Serious Collision Investigation Unit, said: “This was a tragic incident and enquiries are ongoing to establish what happened in the moments leading up to the collision, and to fully understand how this collision occurred.
“We would ask anyone who may have witnessed this incident or who may have been on the Metrolink platforms at Deansgate-Castlefield in the moments leading up to the incident to please get in touch with police as soon as possible.
