Krispy Kreme's mission to "serve half a million smiles" to frontline and community heroes has come to Manchester.
Amid the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, Krispy Kreme re-opened its production last week to safely serve doughnut donations to frontline and wider community heroes.
Now, as an extra thank you, nine Krispy Kreme drive-thrus in the UK will begin re-opening to NHS, police and fire service staff, with the Manchester Trafford Park drive-thru the first location to open doors on Thursday 16th April.
This news was announced in a statement on social media earlier this week.

NHS, police service and fire service staff in Manchester will be offered a complimentary hot drink and Original glazed doughnut three-pack upon presenting their identification at the drive-thru.
With this small gesture, Krispy Kreme "sincerely hopes to bring even a brief moment of much needed lightness to those working tirelessly during the pandemic".
Richard Cheshire, CEO at Krispy Kreme, said:
Our mission to create smiles and bring joy has never been more important. We know we aren’t saving lives, but we hope to do something as small and simple as making someone smile. It’s our way of saying thank you to people far and wide who are working so hard to keep our nation moving, safe and well at the moment.”
Whilst Krispy Kreme is not planning to re-open any retail stores, or drive-thrus to the public at this time and will remain closed under the government/public health authority guidelines, it will be re-opening another eight drive-thru's in Bristol, Enfield, Edinburgh, Gateshead, Leeds, Shannon Corner, Bristol and Braehead to NHS and emergency services
They will each be open by 27th April.
Krispy Kreme has already started safely delivering half a million Original Glazed doughnuts, via contactless drops, to hospitals, charities, food banks, police stations, carers, other community heroes and key workers as part of the campaign to "serve half a million smiles".
Did you know you can also nominate deserving, unsung local heroes to receive a ‘doughnutty’ thank you?
