Man, 57, left with ‘life-changing injuries’ after being hit by a lorry on the M60

The man who was hit by a lorry on the M60 in Greater Manchester this morning has been left with life-changing injuries, police say.
Officers are investigating the serious collision that caused severe disruption along the motorway this morning.
It’s understood that the 57-year-old had stepped out of his car at the side of the motorway before he was hit by a lorry in the first lane.
He was taken to hospital and is in a serious condition as he continues to receive treatment.
The incident occurred at around 6.20am near Junction 13 in a clockwise direction, close to Worsley.
The motorway was closed for several hours while emergency services attended the scene and police investigated the scene.

GMP said in a statement: “The driver of the lorry remained at the scene and is assisting our Serious Collision Investigation Unit with their investigation.
“Our enquiries are ongoing and we appeal to anyone who witnessed the collision, or who may have dash-cam footage from around the area at the time, to get in touch with us on 0161 856 4741 quoting incident 491 of 01/09/2022.
“Details can be passed anonymously to the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”
